We currently work in Nepal, with a vision for 2030 to expand the Asha Special Education School to all provinces of the country. However, we have a global outlook and dream of bringing hope to other developing countries. In Nepal, around 44% of the population lives below the poverty line and faces child malnutrition rates between 30% and 40%. For people with disabilities, these figures are even higher, as intellectual disability is often seen as divine punishment due to religious beliefs, leading to their systematic exclusion from society.
We work every day to ensure that people with disabilities, women in vulnerable situations, and marginalized groups have their basic needs met, receive quality education, and can develop professionally.
We aspire to build inclusive and welcoming societies where all people with disabilities, marginalized groups, and women have access to the same rights and opportunities as the rest of the population, and can live with respect and dignity.
Our members are the foundation that allows us to sustain the project day by day and ensure its long-term viability. Thanks to them, children with disabilities can receive an education.
Each contribution helps us ensure education for more children with disabilities in Nepal. Help us secure this basic right.
Volunteers are the driving force behind the Si Asha Foundation. They provide ongoing training to our teachers and physiotherapists and help us build a high-quality project.
With your help, we will build a home in Hetauda so that children with disabilities can study. Will you help us?
Some of the students are orphans or have been abandoned. Others live in remote rural areas with no access to transportation. In both cases, they need a safe place to grow.
With the creation of Asha Hostel, we ensure that students can attend school, grow up in a family-like environment, and receive proper care and attention.
We began in the city of Hetauda, where the NGO "Familia de Hetauda" started a special education school, an occupational workshop, and a rehabilitation center. We soon joined the cause, supporting the construction of the school residence.
In 2021, we opened an occupational workshop and a special education school in the Kathmandu Valley. We are now working to expand the facilities, open a rehabilitation center, and create jobs for young people with disabilities.
In 2021, we acquired land in Bardibas and built a wall. We are currently working to begin construction of a new Asha school that will benefit more children in southern Nepal by offering them learning opportunities.
We stand with people who have been marginalized due to economic status, caste, or disability. We provide support, guidance, and training programs to help them break the cycle of poverty and exclusion.
Women face high levels of discrimination in Nepal, especially in rural areas. That's why we offer various empowerment and training programs to provide them with professional opportunities and help them become independent.
During humanitarian crises, we respond immediately to support the most vulnerable. During the pandemic, we launched a rural health care center for COVID-19 patients, in collaboration with other organizations.
